Bari has split with coach Antonio Conte, the newly promoted Serie A side said Tuesday.

The former Juventus and Italy midfielder recently committed to Bari for next season after reportedly resisting overtures from his old club.

Pundits said the split may have been due to differences over transfer market moves.

Conte was repeatedly touted as a replacement for sacked Claudio Ranieri at Juve before caretaker Ciro Ferrara secured the job.
