Here’s a heartwarming story to kick off the week: last Thursday a sixty-year-old homeless man in Ivrea [Piedmont] found a wallet containing 1,100 euros in cash in the street. La Repubblica reports that the man immediately went to a police station and handed the wallet in, then returned to the place where he spends most of his life – Ivrea Railway Station, where he sleeps on a bench at night.
The police gave him food before he left and promised they would find the owner of the wallet. This they did and now it seems that our homeless friend will receive a generous reward.
Have you ever found a large sum of money? What did you do? If you were in this man’s situation, what would you do?
