This unique former Olive and Grain mill is located in the hills above the beautiful walled city of Lucca. The current owners have lovingly restored the Mill with local hand-made floor tiles and solid chestnut beams to create a one-of-a kind holiday home composed of 3 apartments. If you prefer, the home can be easily transformed in to a 4 or 5 bedroom single family residence. In summer, it is 3-5 C. degrees cooler than the average temperature. Set on its own bridge in a valley with a wooded hillside behind, up to the top of the mountain, the source of the spring fed brook that runs all-year around. The view in the front of the house is the brook and the church and its tall bell tower which sits prominently on the hill in front of us. A short walk to the top of our driveway opens to a view of the olive groves, and vineyards.
The interiors have hand made and fired terra cotta floors and chestnut beamed ceilings, all new plumbing, electrical and heating systems. The olive mill room has been converted into a social room "taverna" with a splendid stone hearth wood burning oven...still in the final phase of completion.
