The area of Bonagia is approximately 20 minutes’ drive from the city of Trapani and 35 minutes from Its International Airport. Nearby there are several villages.
At the slope of Mount Erice, the area of Bonagia has developed around the ancient tuna factory, now restored and converted into an exclusive hotel near the Saracen sighting tower in which is now possible to visit the tuna-fishing museum.
The "Tonnara di Bonagia" (tuna factory) represents one of the seaside centres, where the very antique local rite of "Mattanza" (literal translation is the tuna slaughter) still takes place every year in May and June.
