Situated very near the indented north-east coastline of Sardinia, in that expanse of often rough sea, and beaten by the mistral wind, which separates this island from the french island of Corsica, the archipelago "La Maddalena" must surely be the most beautiful of the Mediterranean. it is made up of a series of islands, islets and wind-beaten granite rocks, covered with splendid bus-land mostly low and thick, whose total land surface isn't even 50 square kilometres.
There are 7 main islands in order of size: Maddalena, Caprera and Santo Stefano in the south-east, Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria in the north-west.
