The hotel is situated in 4000 square meters of Parkland and 300m distant from the prestigious Salsomaggiore Terme Spa, which was developed in the nineteenth century during the patronage of Maria Luigia of Austria, Countess of Parma and first ex-wife of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Constructed contemporaneously with the Spa in 1841, the ‘Albergo Curtarelli’ was completely renovated in 1936 and renamed the Impero.

The Impero Hotel is adjacent to and shares a private terraced area with the Albergo Hotel Plaza, also in Salsomaggiore Terme, Parma, in Emilia-Romagna province, Italy.
