In the heart of Montalcino, world famous for it's Brunello wine Toscana Restoration offers this beautifully restored village house.
This stone built house,on three floors,is in one of the characteristic streets that meander down from the 13th century Palazzo of the Town Hall. From the front windows there are clear views over the Town Hall and the medieval Fortress.
The building has been lovingly restored, salvaging materials where possible and using handmade materials for elements that needed replacement. Ceilings and floors are in the tradional Tuscan style with heavy solid chestnut beams supporting the ceilings and handmade unglazed thick terracotta tiles on the floors. Many methods and materials used in the restoration are eco-friendly;the roof has been reconstucted reusing the original tiles but introducing natural ventilation and insulation in a way to keep the building naturally cooler in summer and warmer in winter. The use of lime and lime wash is another of our trademarks and in keeping with the spirit of buildings of this age.
