Can anyone help? Our daughter shipped us an M-Bag full of books from the US on February 1 and her post office said we should get it in about 8 weeks. Well, it's been over 9 weeks and no delivery. The US post office said they couldn't track it but that we should contact the Italian customs office and see if they could locate it. The USPS did give a number to give to the customs people.
But my problem is I have no idea who to contact--the "Italian customs people" seems a bit vague--or how to get in touch with them. Are there regional or provincial customs offices or does one go directly to THE customs office in Rome? Any guidance is greatly appreciated! Diane and Peter |

well about eight weeks and its only nine - all things relative I would give it twelve - surface deliveries are highly variable
If the customs are not happy with it, it will have gone in a pile and will eventually get opened after which they will see it is books and send it on. Dont forget the right customs label 'second hand goods - gifts - no commercial value' Use fedex or similiar next time, you will know precisely where it is and have a contact if things go wrong

We mailed an M-bag from NM a year ago and it has never arrived in Italy. We have had friends contact the office we mailed it from and we contacted the Italian side with no results. Needless to say after a year we consider this a total loss.
